National Green Building Standard™ Approved
Washington, 29-Jan-2009.
The American National Standards Institute (
ANSI) today approved The National Green Building Standard™ for all residential construction work including single-family homes, apartments and condos, land development and remodeling and renovation.
The approval signals
a new era for the nation’s builders, remodelers and developers and also provides an extra measure of reassurance for home buyers, said Joe Robson, Chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (
NAHB).
“The National Green Building Standard is now the first and only green building rating system approved by ANSI, making it the benchmark for green homes,” said Ron Jones, who chaired the consensus committee charged with developing the standard.
Consumers looking for authentic, verifiable green building practices can now use a true industry consensus standard for residential green building, said Mike Luzier, CEO of the NAHB Research Center.
Scott Dickson Named Regional Spokesperson for LAHB PR Campaign
Baton Rouge, 13-Jan-2009.
Scott Dickson, 2008 President of the
HBA (Home Builders Association) of Northeast Louisiana was chosen as one of 26 spokepersons for a state-wide public relations campaign recently launched by the
LHBA (Louisiana Home Builders Association).
The campaign touts the comparative
strengths of the housing market in Louisiana. Scott and HBA of NELA Executive Officer Paul Stephenson are invited to attend a media training class Thursday, 29-Jan-2009, in preparation for a series of local presentations.
The campaign's
web site cites several factors that distinguish Louisiana's housing market from other areas of the U.S. currently getting so much media attention. These include:
- mortgage rates near historic lows
- a relatively small percentage of troubled loans in the state
- a foreclosure rate well below the national average
Look for Scott to schedule talks with local civic groups to help spread the campaign's main message:
Now is a good time to buy a home in Louisiana.
